As soon as you hear the first powerful chords of the songs, “In The Darkness” with its operatic crescendos and dramatic lyrics, your heart starts to beat a little faster and the goose bumps start to appear on your arms. Gordy’s sounds a lot like a horror flick, sans the movie. Gordy sees his music as pure, hip hop escapism tinged with tough, touches of reality. The name of King Gordy’s album is the Entity because, “I am an entity.” Gordy explains, “I already know before people even hear the music they are going to form an opinion about me.” But there is so much more to Gordy than meets the eye. He is a different kind of hip hop artist and he knows he has a hard road ahead of him. ![]() Gordy’s look is just as unusual as his sound and King Gordy’s sound can best be described as a turbulent mix of hard rhymes mixed with edgy guitars and crazy beats.
